Selection and Erection of Electrical Equipment for Use in Hazardous Areas

The goal of this course is to improve the knowledge of electrical engineers and supervisors who work in the potentially explosive gas atmosphere sites, i.e. petrochemical and oil & gas factories.

Part 1: Fundamentals of Hazardous Areas and Explosive Atmospheres Understanding hazardous area classification, ignition sources, gas and vapor characteristics, flammable limits, temperature classes, and ATEX directives. Part 2: Explosion Protection and Equipment Selection Principles of Ex protection techniques (Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, Ex p, Ex n, etc.), equipment selection, installation requirements, and ingress protection (IP). Part 3: Inspection and Compliance of Ex Equipment Ex inspection types and grades, IEC 60079-17 inspection requirements, competency and qualification requirements, practical inspection findings, and real-world case studies.
